Although JDC has years of experience in renovating residential properties, today the company is recognized for its expertise in multifamily renovation and rehabilitation. On behalf of both private and institutional apartment community owners, JDC offers complete exterior and limited interior renovations, including pools, clubhouses, fitness centers, façades and other common area revitalizations. They also incorporate new amenities, such as dog runs and picnic areas. JDC also incorporates many other trades into its renovation projects: wrought iron, woodwork, masonry, mechanical, electrical and plumbing, in addition to door and window replacements.

Summer House

This 615-unit Summer House Apartments is one of the largest multifamily properties in the East Bay area of Northern California. JDC was retained to undertake the massive $35 million rehabilitation, which included renovating unit interiors, the exteriors of the property’s 16 buildings, and the property’s large pool and other amenities.

Westlake Villas

Westlake Villas is a 142-unit apartment community in Westlake Village, CA. A builder and general contractor himself, the client was a bit hesitant to have another contractor do the work instead of himself. During the extensive remodel, which took just 10 months, Westlake Villas did not lose a single tenant, which was one of the client’s primary concerns prior to the start of construction.

Park Place Apartments

A well-positioned asset in Canoga Park, CA, The Park Place Apartments held the potential to command higher rents through an extensive makeover. JDC was charged with taking this rustic ranch style building that had been an eyesore in the community for years and creating a completely new contemporary European look, all while the building was fully occupied.

Alvista Apartments

An older, yet well-located apartment community in Long Beach, CA, Alvista Apartments was purchased by Phoenix Realty Group (PRG) in late 2011 due to its attractive upside potential. Working closely with the architectural firm of Studio One Eleven, JDC was charged with returning the 237-unit complex in Anaheim Park Estates back to its mid-twentieth century architectural style, which had been severely compromised over the years by a series of inappropriate makeovers.
