An older, yet well-located apartment community in Long Beach, CA, Alvista Apartments was purchased by Phoenix Realty Group (PRG) in late 2011 due to its attractive upside potential. Working closely with the architectural firm of Studio One Eleven, JDC was charged with returning the 237-unit complex in Anaheim Park Estates back to its mid-twentieth century architectural style, which had been severely compromised over the years by a series of inappropriate makeovers.

To return the apartment community back to its mid-twentieth century architectural style; revitalize common areas; implement a complete new exterior paint scheme.
Major Challenge(s): To eliminate architectural elements added over the years by a series of inappropriate makeovers, including a 1980s effort to bring the complex in line with the California hacienda trend so popular at the time.
